How to reduce the temperature in a washing machine factory with evaporative air conditioning

Client: Istobal Manufacturing
Sector: Industry
Solution: Project and installation of evaporative air conditioners

Interview with Ignacio Gavidia

What commitment does your company have to sustainability?

Istobal has a very marked sustainability policy, during these years we have carried out activities such as cardboard reduction, paper reduction, the integration of recycled cardboard and paper and also reducing light, gas and water in our production processes and day-to-day consumables.

Why did you decide to count on us?

We have some powder painting installations where in certain periods of the year we reach high temperatures and we also have an area of about 60,000m2 where 40% of which are outdoors and we need an environment where the suspended particles are minimal.

What measure does Evaporalia propose to you?

Evaporalia proposed an environment free of particles with a controlled temperature that what achieves is that the ergonomics of the operators are optimal to work properly.

What results have you noticed with the installation?

The solution that Evaporalia proposed to us has been perfectly noticeable in the ergonomics of our work and our processes, reducing the temperature in the work areas, this means that our operators can work in a “bubble” of comfort.

What results have you noticed with the installation?

Indeed, now our operators working in a much more appropriate way, they are happy to work here with us and productivity has been adequately affected. Our workers had the impression that this was a somewhat tedious work zone and as a result of the solution proposed by us, none of our workers have decided that this work would not be correct for their way of working or their development.

Are the Sustainable Development Goals met?

Istobal has a very marked sustainability policy, during these years we have carried out activities to reduce environmental pollution in all its aspects.

FAQs

No. It is a sustainable system with very low energy consumption and spends up to 80% less than an A/C. For example, for an area of 200 m2 the approximate consumption is 960 W at maximum speed.

between 7 ºC and 20 ºC less than that of outside air. It will depend on the daily weather conditions, mainly on the outside air temperature and its humidity. The hotter and drier the day, the more the evaporative air conditioners will cool down.

Yes, because we do not recirculate air like the A/C, we introduce new air filtered and cold from the outside, due to that an overpressure is generated and we must evacuate the introduced air. For this reason, doors and windows open, exutorious or forced extraction are advisable.

No, since its maintenance is minimal, due to the automation, they incorporate the equipment, such as an electrolytic detector of water quality, automatic and programmable drainage or automatic duct closure.

The installations are very fast, they would have the operating equipment in a short time and with their capabilities at 100%.

Because it allows you to save time and money, in addition to helping you cover a primary need such as air conditioning for general well-being in your company. Respecting the environment
